Hi Photographer friends,

Sad time in the history of Photography.

The Chicago Sun-Times has laid off its entire photography staff, and plans to use freelance photographers and reporters to shoot photos and video going forward, the newspaper said.
A total of 28 full-time staffers received the news Thursday morning at a meeting held at the Sun-Times offices in Chicago, according to sources familiar with the situation. The layoffs are effective immediately.
The newspaper released a statement suggesting

What's going on in the Pentax Digital Camera world?

Email: brqyvn@gmail.com

 Hi Photographer friends,

The entire Digital Camera world seems to be quiet at the present time.

  • Not surprisingly, RiceHigh's blog keeps making a fool of himself by yet publishing another rumor about a Pentax Full Frame by next Halloween. Whether or not this actually materialize, it is about the tenth time he makes predictions about what Pentax will do next. Eventually, he'll have it right just by persistence alone. He will then claim that he is the only one that knew what Pentax was up to. Google his site and you will see what kind of egotistic person he is. He is "special" !

  • Pentax Forums has a write-up about Pentax lens prices going up again.

Are Pentax lens prices going up again?

  • PENTAX FULL-FRAME DSLR MYSTERY DEEPENS Pentax Ricoh Imaging will neither confirm nor deny that is working on a full-frame DSLR, following remarks reportedly made by a top official in China.

  • Adobe Photoshop is discontinuing the release of future revisions of its software package. They have decided to sell subscriptions instead. That means working in the clouds, and sometimes that is not possible. You may be in the field where no internet connections are available or where it's very expensive. How are you going to work on your images then? TOP has a complete article about. Must read.

  • The latest new Pentax DSLR is the K-30 which was released at the end of  the third quarter of 2012.   The upgraded K-5 (K-5 II / K-5 IIs) were released a little later the same Month. There is no doubt that the K-5 series of DSLRs has been the most successful DSLRs they have produced yet. If you have a K-30 or any of the K-5 series, look at our e-books covering these cameras and many more.
Click on the e-books below to download a partial sample of the K-5 or K-30 e-books.

Well, I'm ready to go. The truck is fixed, the fifth wheel is ready, the Pentax equipment is ready.

I got my truck back and I've been practicing parking this rig. I'm ready to go. There is only one problem...after paying my deductible for the truck, I'm really broke. I had other unexpected expenses as well.  I won' be able to go camp this weekend.

I'm dying to go take some pictures. However, I have to tell you that I'm starting to worry a little about the Ricoh /Pentax aggregation. I have been a Pentax user for all my adult life and for the first time, I am a little anxious about what's coming next for Pentax.

We seen the introduction of the K-30 quite a while back, and the K-30 is not a revolution. We should have seen some new DSLRs or Mirror-less cameras by now. Ricoh have introduced one new camera, but I'm not much of a Ricoh fan per say.

I'm sure Pentax will introduce something fantastic down the road, but it's taking an awful long time. I really would love to see Pentax back to it's previous glory time of the 60's and 70's.

Dear Pentax, Please announce something great soon, before we lose more Pentaxians.

Progress repairing my F350 so that I can get back to traveling and shooting more images with my Pentax equipment.

 Hi Photographer friends,

My favorite truck ever, has been in the shop since this past Monday. I went to see it today and they allowed me to take a few pictures with my cell phone. It will be painted tonight and unless they can't get the new bumper and bed rail guards, I should have it back by Monday.

I would have preferred getting it Friday (and I may) otherwise I can't travel to picturesque destinations for this weekend and use my Pentax equipment. I could always take pictures, but it's definitely more fun when you can go with the Fifth Wheel Camper and be there at the best time of the day. It's called the golden hour and it's 1 hour before sunrise and 1 hour after sunset. Read more about the Golden Hour here.

I want to get back to this!
